|The U.K. based Music Industries Association honoured Peavey Electronics, Ltd., at its 2003 Music Awards by awarding the Escort 2000 portable sound system 'Best Overall Live P.A. System'. Additionally, recently retired Peavey Electronics' Managing Director Ken Achard received recognition for his 'Individual Contribution to the Music Industry'.
Peavey Electronics, Ltd., is the U.K. and European operations of Peavey Electronics Corporation. "This is a very important honour for Peavey," said Clive Roberts, the newly appointed Managing Director of Peavey Electronics, Ltd. "Ken is highly respected in this industry and his influence will not soon fade." Roberts added, "We are also very proud of our Escort portable sound system. It's proven to be a very successful and versatile product in our sound reinforcement line, and this award confirms its broad appeal."
Peavey Electronics founder and CEO Hartley Peavey announced Robert's appointment as Managing Director in August, following Achard's retirement. "During Ken's 27-year tenure with Peavey Electronics, Ltd., this company has become a solid competitor in the European market and demonstrated great capacity for growth," said Roberts. "The opportunity to take this facility even further - especially given its phenomenal accomplishments thus far - is extremely exciting."
Roberts is well established in the music industry and has amassed a wealth of experience during his professional career. After entering the industry as a professional musician, he began working in musical instrument and sound reinforcement sales as a UK sales representative, then as an international sales representative. His success in these fields landed him in management positions at multiple high-profile companies.
