| In Summer 2007, InfoComm International, a worldwide leader in professional AV exhibitions and NSCA, the trade association for the electronics systems contracting industry, have announced a cooperative effort to consolidate the leading industry events for both the professional AV and electronics systems industry. As part of this consolidation, the 2008 NSCA Systems Integration Expo became part of InfoComm’s annual tradeshow in Las Vegas on June 18-20, 2008. NSCA also transferred its ownership interest in Integrated Systems Europe to the remaining partners, as per a separate operating agreement. According to Chuck Wilson, Executive Director of NSCA, “This is simply a huge deal for our industry and one we have been discussing for at least ten years. It’s exciting to finally be able to say yes to the hundreds of shared exhibitors and attendees of both trade shows who have been asking for us to do this”. As part of further event consolidation, InfoComm discontinues its Executive Business Conference and becomes a primary sponsor of the 2008 NSCA Business Conference. The conference from June 14-20, 2008 will include more than 350 courses, basic through advanced levels, covering audio, video, projection, digital signage, design, certification, conferencing, AV-IT integration, and much more. It also includes Institute for Professional Development classes (June 14-16); intensive one-day sessions; and 2-4 hour courses. The exhibition will take place at North and Central Halls, Las Vegas Convention Center. The NSCA expo was incorporated as part of the InfoComm Exhibit Floo including an NSCA-sponsored pavilion. The co-owned NXTcomm tradeshow by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the United States Telecom Association (USTelecom) targeting premier information and communications technology suppliers allowed InfoComm visitors free access, and vice-versa.
