2nd Queens Award for Orange Music Electronic

Orange Music Electronic Company Ltd have been awarded, for the second time in three years, the coveted Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade. This great honour was approved by Her Majesty the Queen after the Prime Minister recommended the company be put forward after more than doubling it’s export earnings over three years and for selling nearly 80% of its products to over 50 countries worldwide.
Commenting on this award Chairman and Founder of Orange Amplification, Cliff Cooper said, "We are immensely proud of this achievement, and honoured that the hard work of our talented and dedicated staff has been recognised by Her Majesty for a second time. For me this is breathtaking, coming just weeks after celebrating our 40th Anniversary and after our sustained growth in overseas sales.”
Orange have become one of the most recognisable and widely used guitar amps in the world. Their now famous brightly coloured Orange picture-frame design cabinets are played by some of the most famous names in the music business including Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, Madonna and Prince to name but a few.
Managing Director, Damon Waller commented "To win this in 2009 is particularly encouraging to us and we hope to rest of our industry. It shows that even during these difficult times the music industry is standing out as one of the few industries weathering the storm and in some instances even bucking the trend. We are looking forward to the rest of the year and have a strong programme of innovative product launches to continue our domestic and international sales growth.” The awards are announced on the Queens Birthday, April 21st, after which Cliff Cooper and Damon Waller will attend a special presentation ceremony at Buckingham Palace in July, where her majesty the Queen will present the award in the presence of the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Household.
