Radian Audio Engineering is now shipping its new coaxial MicroWedge RMW-1122 monitor loudspeaker. The RMW-1122, a passive two-way monitor with a coaxial 12" speaker and 2" compression driver, is the first product of Radian's new MircoWedge line of compact stage monitors designed for performing musicians and live sound applications.
The RMW-1122, rated at 500 watts RMS, is a unique, low-profile enclosure that is up to 50% smaller than comparable stage monitors. The RMW-1122's coaxial transducer reduces the baffle area by 30-50 %, resulting in a compact enclosure that takes up less floor space on stage while ensuring smooth response and wide dispersion from a single, coherent source. The RMW-1122's highly innovative enclosure design also reduces interference with the audience's line-of-sight. Moreover, the RMW-1122's wide frequency response (60 Hz-20kHz) and high output level (123 dB continuous) makes the RMW-1122 an ideal choice for live sound applications requiring a high-performance monitor system in a low-profile package.
The MicroWedge line will include models equipped with a control to switch between passive and bi-amp crossover operation, and bi-amp only models. Like all Radian Professional Series loudspeaker systems, the RMW-1122 is made of 3/4" 13-ply Baltic birch and is finished with Radian's exclusive water/scratch-resistant black Duradian finish.
Future models include an 8" and 15" versions.
