At winter NAMM 2002 Electro-Voice will be showing the SxA250 compact powered sound reinforcement speaker. The SxA250 is a powered 15"-two-way speaker made of 7-ply plywood covered with FUTURA. This special coating does not only provide a very robust and scratch-resistant surface but also a very and worthy look.
With it's five-side enclosure the self-powered 15/2 could be used for powerful monitor applications as well as for general sound reinforcement. The biamp drive of the SxA250 provides 150 watts continuous for the 15" woofer and 50 watts for the DH2010A 1,25" driver, respectively 350 and 80 watts peak power for signal peaks. A CD-horn with a 80° x 50° (50°x 80° as monitor) pattern provides constant coverage on short to medium distances.
The SxA250 offers a balanced line (combi ¼"-jack/XLR) and a mic input with a seperate level control (XLR). Together with the 2-band eq this saves the use of additional mixing boards for some applications. A Line-Out for the mixed signal is provided on XLR.
A 35mm (1 3/8") pole mount adaptor is provided on the bottom side, while an optional SxA Rigging-Kit allows for flying in mobile as well as in fixed installed applications.
