Artists performing at the Taylor booth at Namm 2006

Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, double-platinum winning pop group, Switchfoot, and guitarist Tommy Shaw (Styx) will perform at the Taylor Guitars booth at NAMM.
The Goo Goo Dolls, alternative rockers who evolved into a super-successful mainstream pop act, have forged a string of hits written, co-written, and/or sung by charismatic guitarist/front man, Johnny Rzeznik, beginning in 1995 with the Top 5 acoustic-driven ballad, 'Name'. Other songs penned by Rzeznik include the smash hit, 'Iris' (featured in the soundtrack of the Nicolas Cage/Meg Ryan romance, City of Angels), 'Slide', 'Dizzy', 'Here is Gone', and the Grammy-nominated 'Black Balloon'.
Switchfoot is based in San Diego, and guitarist/leader Jon Foreman was one of the first recording artists to road-test Taylor's T5 electric/acoustic. In 1999, the group had a huge hit, and won a Dove award for the title cut of their second album, New Way to be Human. 2000's 'Learning to Breathe' showed a new, mainstream direction for Switchfoot, and their presence on the 2002 soundtrack for the Mandy Moore vehicle, 'A Walk to Remember', helped set them up for a major label run, with 2003's 'Beautiful Letdown' (Columbia/RED). 'Beautiful Letdown' spawned the radio hits 'Dare You to Move' and 'Meant to Live'. 2005's 'Nothing is Sound' is Switchfoot's fifth album.
Tommy Shaw joined Styx in 1975, the year the band rocketed up the charts with 'Lady'; Shaw wrote much of the group's most memorable material, including 'Fooling Yourself', 'Blue Collar Man', and 'Too Much Time on My Hands', and his songs have been recorded by Ozzy Osborne, Alice Cooper, Vince Neil, Cher, and Aerosmith. As a member of Damn Yankees (with Ted Nugent, Jack Michael Cartellone, and Jack Blades), he also had major radio success with 'High Enough' and 'Coming of Age'.
Other artists performing for Taylor include two of Taylor's star clinicians such as master fingerstylist, Doyle Dykes and former Manhattan Transfer lead player, jazz guitarist, Wayne Johnson, hardcore rockers Rise Against, Cuban Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Juan-Carlos Formell, sultry-voiced songstress Suzie Suh, blues-based Barefoot Servants (with Chris Pierce), guitar harmony-driven trio Smile Empty Soul, virtuosic, melodic lead guitarist, Marc Seal, powerful fusion group, the Ed Degenero Trio, and there will also be surprise performances throughout each day of the show.
