Godin launches special 40th Anniversary models plus new instruments

Along with many new Godin models making their debut at Winter NAMM 2013, the company also unveiled two Anniversary models to commemorate a 40-year milestone in the industry. Montreal based Godin Guitars has come a long way since the early days of President and Founder Robert Godin traveling the eastern U.S. and Canada, selling guitars to dealers out of his Econoline van. Its early beginnings in 1972, as a small company in Lapatrie Quebec, also included building replacement necks for some of the industry’s top brands of that time. The Godin Guitar Company of today, is one of the largest guitar manufacturers in the business, and now includes 6 factories and seven guitar brands.
Godin Limited Edition 40th Anniversary Acousticaster Koa MNThe 40th Anniversary Norman B20 acoustic features a new tobacco burst high-gloss finish, and the Limited Edition Anniversary Godin Acousticaster sports Koa (photo) or Rosewood top options. The new Acousticaster has been updated to include Godin GJN1mini-humbucker, revamped top mounted preamp, and two 1⁄4” outputs for Electric and Acoustic/Mix. The Norman B20 was the first guitar released by the company in 1972 and the Godin Acousticaster was the original electro-acoustic hybrid guitar released under the Godin brand and essentially the guitar that put Godin on the map.
The Godin Montreal Premiere is a thinline, semi-hollow body electric featuring a Canadian wild cherry top, back and sides, with an innovative spruce “breathe-through” carved core. This feature promotes free airflow through the interior center block, in turn, making the Montreal Premiere a resonant and vibrant guitar. Other features include a 3-way toggle switch along with one volume and one tone knob, a 24 3⁄4” scale, mahogany set-neck with rosewood fingerboard, double-bound binding, high-gloss custom polished finish, contoured high-gloss headstock with high-ratio vintage style tuners, and ResoMax bridge system by Graphtech with stop Godin Limited Editiontailpiece. A Bigsby equipped option is also available. Available finishes include Natural HG, Trans Red HG, Trans Black HG and Sunburst HG.
The Canadian made, tenor size, electro-acoustic Godin MultiUke Ukulele finds its home within the renowned Godin Multiac Series of guitars, known for exceptional amplified acoustic sound without feedback. The MultiUke features a chambered mahogany body design, solid spruce top, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, custom voiced electronics and onboard preamp with 3-band EQ.
The 5th Avenue Composer GT features a Canadian wild cherry body with arched top and arched back, silver leaf maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, a Custom Godin Humbucker pickup in the neck position, controlled via one volume and one tone knob, designed to give the player a full, warm expression of the guitars tonal characteristics. Other features include cream binding, classic f-holes, contoured high-gloss headstock with high-ratio tuners and an adjustable Tusq bridge by Graphtech. The Gloss Top (GT)is paired with semi-gloss back and sides. Available in Natural GT or Sunburst GT finish options.
The Godin Inuk Encore Steel and the Inuk Ambiance Steel are electro-acoustic, 11-string, fretted instruments featuring steel strings which are tuned in unison. Inspired by the Godin MultiOud, the new Inuk makes for an effortless transition for guitarists. The Inuk Encore Steel with Antique Burst semi-gloss finish features a chambered Canadian Laurentian basswood body, solid cedar top, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and bridge, along with custom voiced Godin EPM Quantum IT electronics with under saddle transducer in the bridge and an onboard preamp with built-in tuner.
