For the second year in a row, Ernie Ball/Musicman has named Hartke as the official bass rig for the 2003 "Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands" during the Summer's Vans Warped Tour. 172 bands will play on the Ernie Ball Local Heroes Mobile Stage during the 48 stops on the Warped Tour that kicks off on June 19th. Every one of them will play through a Hartke bass stack, including a 3500 bass head, a 410XL 4 x 10" cabinet and a 115XL 1 x 15" cabinet. Both speaker boxes feature Hartke's signature aluminum cone drivers.
Hartke will also provide matching stacks to the five winning bands left standing at the end of the battle and the tour. "We are extremely pleased that Hartke will again be part of the EB Battle in 2003," said Pete Moe, director of marketing for Samson and Hartke. "Ernie Ball continues to show the industry how grass-roots marketing is done. We are also thrilled to be associated with the Vans Warped Tour, which is still the coolest tour of the Summer."
The Vans Warped Tour is the longest running festival concert tour in North America and has helped to launch the success of artists such as No Doubt, Blink 182, Eminem, Sugar Ray and Limp Bizkit. In addition to performances, the tour features the world's top skateboarding and BMX athletes and a traveling "village" of arts and entertainment side stages with a punk rock vibe.
Also for the second year in a row, Samson is sponsoring the "Backseat Productions/Troma On Tour" film and performance art exhibition and "Code of tha Cutz: Project B-Girl", an interactive DJ/hip-hop exhibition focusing on women. Both are located in the traveling Warped Tour village.
