Washburn announces Scott Ian signature series

Scott Ian's powerful riffs have been at the heart of Anthrax ever since the band kick-started the New York metal revival in the mid-80s with Fistful Of Meta. Scott has teamed up with Washburn to develop an axe that can cope with the demands of life in one of the biggest metal bands. The Scott Ian siganture models were showcased at Musikmesse 2005, Frankfurt, Germany.
There are two models in the new Washburn Ian Series, both designed to be mad, bad and dangerous to play. Developed in the US with guidance from Scott himself, these two models are the closest you'll ever get to his signature tone and ball-breaking attitude. "These guitars are exactly what I've been looking for," says Scott. "They're evil and they play fucking awesome."
The Ian Standard is the result of months of research and development, but the results are undoubtedly worth the wait. Built by experts in Washburn's US production facility, this electric features a poplar string-thru body, a maple V-neck with rosewood fingerboard, and Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups. There's also a Tone Pros bridge, tuners by Grover and 22 jumbo frets, along with Buzz Feiten tuning system. In addition to the Standard model there is also a limited edition custom shop camo version available through selected Washburn dealers.
Built in Washburn's USA custom shop, the Ian Pro is a stunning instrument featuring a single Seymour Duncan El Diablo pickup in the bridge position. Complementing the tone of the pickup is a string-thru mahogany body. The mahogany V-neck carries a comfortable ebony fingerboard with Anthragram fret inlays. Further features are a Tone Pros bridge, Sperzel tuners and Buzz Feiten tuning system.
