'Slash' Signature Les Paul models start selling worlwide simultaneously

At winter NAMM show 2008, Gibson Guitar introduces an Epiphone Slash Signature Les Paul model. Slash was the cool cat in the top hat, cranking out timeless riffs like Welcome To The Jungle and Sweet Child O’ Mine. Fast-forward to 2008 and he’s doing exactly the same with Velvet Revolver. Slash is stuck with the Les Paul from the start, and recently teamed up with Gibson Guitars to create the Slash Signature Les Paul.
As the only luthier licensed to make official versions of Gibson models, Epiphone is putting all the hot tone, cool looks and winning features of the original within reach of working musicians with its own Slash Signature Les Paul Standard, set to make its debut at the 2008 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim.
Slash has always been an icon, so it makes sense that the new Epiphone Slash Signature Les Paul is iconic too. True to the Gibson original, this instrument offers a mahogany body and flamed maple top, finished in rich Tobacco Sunburst and equipped with nickel hardware.
As specified by the man himself, features on this new electric include a set mahogany neck complete with ‘Slash Profile’ and long neck tenon, a LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece that make maintenance a breeze, plus a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard that handles all the solos and riffs you can throw at it. The sound of the Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro-II humbuckers then might take you to Paradise City.
Guitar retailers across the world are about to offer consumers an unprecedented opportunity to own a very limited Gibson or Epiphone Slash Signature model guitar. The limited editions of each model roll out exclusively on Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Three very unique models of the Slash signature Les Paul guitar from Gibson Custom, Gibson USA and Epiphone will be released simultaneously around the world at 5 PM US EDT at select dealers and will not be reproduced once they’re sold out.
