At Winter-NAMM 2001 in Anaheim, Ca (USA), Italian manufacturer Ketron launched the professional keyboard workstation SD1, following the well known X1 and taking a lot of the key features of the X1 one step further. Especially the live sounding  arrangements and styles of the X1 and its predecessors have attracted especially professional keyboard entertainers - and the new instrument is expected to perform even better.
The Ketron SD1 features 76 weighted keys with after-touch (D-g'''), improved drums, state-of- the art orchestral voices, interactive arranger, more than 300 styles (of which more than 100 are rewritable in flash-memory), a 6 GB hardddisk, 16 MB RAM sounds, a sampler with dynamics of 16 bit, 44 kHz sampling rate and wave synchronization to styles, three digital multi effects sound processors, two mic-inputs and `Vocalizer` amongst others. Arabic scale end sets are available. SMF compatibility, 16 track sequencer, 3,5" disk drive, Mac and PC interface as well as a large display are standard in this class of keyboards. A karaoke feature is included.
Options are a video interface, volume peadal, volume pedal with four switches, sustain pedal and MIDI pedalboard.
The SD1 will be showing at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2002 at the Ketron stand.
