Adding a classic twist to its 30th anniversary celebration, Drum Workshop has released updated versions of its 5000CX Chain & Sprocket and 5000N Nylon Strap bass drum pedals. The original 5000CX offered drummers the first commercially available chain drive system and was one of the American drum maker's first and most successful products. Since their introduction in 1972, the 5000 Series pedals and their subsequent versions have remained DW's primary business- establishing the company's reputation for quality and innovation while becoming the standard of the industry.
The new pedals include the drummer-friendly features, lightweight, portable, un-plated design and fluid, balanced feel that initially made them popular as well as many of the upgrades that DW developed over the years to improve the pedals' performance and versatility. These refinements include aluminum hex shaft, Delta rocker, slotted stroke adjustment, built-in spurs, dual adjusting hoop clamp, heavy-duty aluminum hinge and 101 Two-Way beater.
