RMV introduces X5 Special Edition drumsets

RMV XV drumset deepblue RMV introduces X5 Special Edition drumsets featuring the superior sound and performance of RMV’s newly developed “X5” (street-style) drumshells along with a host of high-end features at an affordable price. Like the rest of RMV’s drums, the “Special Edition” drums are made from hand-selected Brazilian Maple and are Sonically-Optimized to ensure optimum tone production in a wide range of contemporary drumming applications.
The Special Edition’s advanced “X5” street-style drumshells are 4-ply/5mm thick and have been specifically configured to provide a cross between the depth and resonance of RMV’s 4mm stage-style shells and the power and clarity of their 6mm stadium-style shells. Because “X5” shells were developed primarily for use with double-ply heads at moderate to low tension, their design gives them the ability to produce a full-bodied sound with the increased focus and projection required in higher volume pop, rock, hip-hop and punk situations.
RMV “X5/Special Edition” 5-piece drumkits are available in a choice of Black Sparkle and Incandescent Fade WrapArt, as well as Wild Cherry and Deep Blue Satin Lacquer, finishes. The standard “Special Edition” drumkit includes 5.5x14˝ snare drum with single ply, coated batter and clear snare-side heads; 18x22˝ bass drum with FX (pre-muffled) batter and resonant heads; 8x10˝ and 9x12˝ rack toms with clear double-ply and clear single-ply resonant heads; and 13x14˝ floor tom with clear double-ply and clear single-ply resonant heads.
The “Special Edition” drums come equipped with black hoops, lugs and tension rods and RMV’s “Mini-Mass” composite lugs. In addition, the kits feature a heavy-duty Eclipse Series hardware pack that includes RMV’s black-finished, heavy-duty, double-braced direct-pull hi-hat, adjustable snare drum and two straight/boom cymbal stands as well as a chain and sprocket bass drum pedal. Matching 7x8˝ rack and 15x16˝ floor tom add-ons are sold separately.
According to David Levine, president of Drums for North America, the RMV “X5/Special Edition” offers today’s drummers an unexpected combination of performance and affordability. “These are not lower quality drums for less experienced players,” he says. “They’re high quality, less expensive drums for all players.”
