Flats by Arbiter are designed to make a drum kit completely portable and stable, yet still sound highly credible in any musical situation. Arbiter Flats have less than half the weight of regular drums and come complete with Arbiter AT's tom mount. Bass drums are supplied with spurs and pedal mount. Flats have chromed steel counter hoops and are available in diameters from 8'' to 22'', snares in 13'' and 14'' x 2''. Supplied with Remo drum heads the single-screw progressive tuning gives great tuning range. Flats are easy to store, simple to trigger and have a shallow footprint.
The single-headed toms and bass drum are based around ultra-shallow wooden shells which colour their sound and add volume. 'Flats' use exactly the same single-screw tuning system as their 'AT' brothers and are designed to be transported together in a single unit. With their single-heads, 'Flats' are ideal for unplugged, or low volume musical situations, although with the judicious addition of microphones they will adequately cope in the most musical environments. On the other hand, because of their shallow footprint, they're perfect for gigs where space is at a premium.
As regular sets 'Flats' are available in 4- or 5-piece configurations including 20'' or 22'' bass drums with or without an ultra shallow double headed snare drum and are otherwise designed to be completely modular, enabling the player to begin with as small a set up as a bass and snare drum, to which further drums can easily be added when needed.
