American Drummers Achievement Awards honoring Steve Gadd

ADAA Honoring Steve Gadd DVDCapturing the entertainment and excitement of an historic musical event for the Zildjian cymbal company, the ADAA Honoring Steve Gadd DVD, features this incredible concert and awards ceremony, plus back-stage interviews with many of the musicians, rehearsal footage, a 20-minute documentary on Steves career, and much more over five hours of footage, in all, across two DVD discs.
The event was produced and presented by the Avedis Zildjian Company on September 13, 2003 at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston, Massachusetts and hosted by Bill Cosby. The once-in-a-lifetime event featured an all-star band that included Vinnie Colaiuta and Rick Marotta on drums, Michael Landau (guitar), Jimmy Johnson (bass) and Larry Goldings (keyboards) with special guest appearances by Will Lee (vocals) and Tom Scott (saxophone). Musical performances included songs such as Watching The River Flow, Dirty Old Man, Nite Sprite, Subway and Duke's Lullaby that defined Steve Gadd's incredible career and established his credentials as one of todays most important and influential drummers. The evening culminated with a spectacular performance by Steve with James Taylor and band.
The five hours-plus hour double DVD, which was produced by Hudson Music's team of Rob Wallis and Paul Siegel, directed by Dave Diomedi and edited by Phil Fallo, also includes a special video tribute to the late cymbal innovator and head of the Zildjian company, Armand Zildjian, as well as information on the recently created Steve Gadd Scholarship Program at Berklee College Of Music.
Bonus material on the DVD includes extensive rehearsal footage, a 20-minute documentary on Steve's incredible career, rare performance footage of Steve from 1977, interviews with Vinnie Colaiuta, Rick Marotta, Eric Clapton, Tom Scott, Will Lee, an interview with Steve, and much more.
