Buzz Audio launches analogue mic channel ARC1.1

Buzz Audio, New Zealand based manufacturer of audio processing equipment, unveiled its ARC1.1 Analog Recording Channel at 117th AES, San Francisco. The ARC combines a mic/line preamplifier, a 5 band equalizer, pptical compressor and FET peak limiter into one 2U high rack mount unit. The ARC includes tried and trusted elements from other Buzz Audio products plus some features specifically developed for this unit.
Whilst aimed at vocal recording and processing, the ARC is a useful tool for all sorts of recording and mixing applications. With all the connection and routing options available, the ARC may be used as a seperate mic preamp, DI Box, equalizer and compressor/limiter (optionally with sidechain EQ), all at the same time.
Designer and company owner Tim Farrant comments; "The ARC has taken 2 years to develop and brings together existing and new designs to provide the user with a very flexible high specification audio processor. Many features of the ARC were suggested to us by recording engineers from around the world, for example, the ARC includes a 'coloured' audio transformer that can be switched in and out of the signal path. The ability to seperately access the mic and line preamplifiers, each band of the equalizer and the compressor/limiter means the user has not one but four recording/mixing elements at their finger tips. The inclusion of our True Class A mic preamp and Optical Compressor technologies make the ARC an excellent choice for recording vocals and voice overs."
