Yamaha introduces the YTR-9445CHSII Xeno Artist “Chicago” C trumpet

Yamaha Band and Orchestral Division displayed the updated YTR-9445CHSII Xeno Artist Model “Chicago” C Trumpet at the 2013 Winter NAMM show. Intended for use in orchestral, concert band and other brass ensemble environments, the new Artist Model Chicago C trumpet was crafted with the input of John Hagstrom, member of the legendary Chicago Symphony Orchestra brass section.
The trumpet features a MalonePipe leadpipe design which provides superior response and accurate slotting. Additional updates include brace placement modifications and heavier valve caps, providing an optimal mix of flexibility and power to fulfill the needs of the most demanding orchestral musicians.

John Hagstrom has collaborated with Yamaha to create several professional trumpet designs in their Artist Model Series, including top selling Bb and C trumpets. Since its introduction in 2004, the Artist Model Chicago C Trumpet has been the instrument played most often by musicians winning orchestral positions in major U.S. orchestras. Due to its commercial and artistic success worldwide, in 2006 Yamaha selected the Artist Model Chicago C Trumpet to be their 10 millionth instrument ever produced. “The ability to consult with the finest musicians in the world – such as John Hagstrom – to produce instruments of the highest quality and craftsmanship, like the new Artist Model Chicago C trumpet, differentiates Yamaha from the competition,” said Yamaha Band and Orchestral Division Marketing Director Roger Eaton. “John’s insights have contributed to an outstanding instrument that musicians in premier orchestras and ensembles rely on in the most demanding of performance situations.”
Replacing the current YTR-9445CHS, the updated YTR-9445CHSII Xeno Artist Model Chicago C Trumpet is expected to ship in March 2013.Yamaha anticipates high demand among its target markets of professional orchestral musicians, college students, high-end amateurs, hobbyists and collectors.
