German woodwind instruments manufacturer W. Schreiber & Söhne launched the professional Master bassoon S76 at Musikmesse 2005, Frankfurt. The new Schreiber bassoon is made of selected, naturally flamed alpine maple. It features 26 keys and 9 rollers, high E key, A key/ piano bridge, double Eb key on wing joint, balance hanger on boot joint, B/F# guard with sophisticated engraving. It has a u tube gasket made from cork, a nicely designed hand rest made from granadilla wood and a wide harness carrying strap. In addition to the standard bocals KER 1 and KER 2 It is supplied with an additional KDR 1 bocal, thus covering a tuning range from 441 to 444 Hz. The innovative, re-designed tone hole net provides an excellent and warm tone. Intonation and response are further optimised.
