Session and Concert Tour in Portugal

The 10th session of the ''European Union Youth Wind Orchestra'' will take
place in Portugal from April 7th-18th, 2000. Since 1989, this high level
Orchestra every year gathers the best young musicians of the European Union
together in another country. Some musicians from other European countries
will also be invited. The next session is organized by the public institution
''Instituto Nacional para o Aproveitamento dos Tempos Livres dos Trabahadores''
(INATEL) and by the European association ''Orchestre d'Harmonie des Jeunes
de l'Union Européenne'', Luxembourg. The European Orchestra will
meet from April 7th-18th, 2000, for a rehearsal period of seven days in
Lissabon, followed by a concert tour in Portugal. As in 1998, the Orchestra
will be conducted by the Dutch conductor Jan Cober. Jan Cober is professor
of music at the Conservatories in Tilburg, Utrecht and Maastricht. Jan
Cober will be assisted by Maestro Francisco Pereira da Costa Ferreira and
