beyerdynamic introduces accordion microphone system

beyerdynamic's Opus 86 cardioid microphone has been specially developed for miking accordions and provides perfect sound quality in wired applications as well as with Opus wireless systems. The microphone mount is attached to the accordion without any drilling. The microphone itself slides into the mount an can be removed for transport while the mount remains on the accordion. The flexible gooseneck allows individual adjustment of the Opus 86 for bass and discant miking. The cardioid microphone capsule features a high-gain-before feedback and its frequency response has been optimised for live accordion applications. To avoid handling noise the microphone capsule is attached to the gooseneck with a special shock-mounted suspension.
Up to three Opus 86 microphones can be used on one accordion. The individual signals of all three microphones are mixed with the newly developed Opus Mix 31 and are routed to a pocket transmitter or wired power supply. The Opus Mix 31 mini mixer comes in a high-quality magnesium cast housing and powers up to three Opus 86 microphones. Alternatively, two Opus 86 and a neckworn microphone (e.g. Opus 54) can be used to have vocals and the instrument mixed to one wireless channel.
Opus 86 will be on show at Plasa 2005, stand H34.
