Crest Audio launches lightweight E-Lite power amplifiers

On the heels of its launch at Winter NAMM Show 2010, Crest Audio took the E-Lite Series power amplifiers 1800 and 1800 DSP to their European debut at prolight +sound show 2010 in Frankfurt. At InfoComm 2010, Las Vegas, the E-Lite 3000 and 3000 DSP joined the series of lightweight, efficient design with high power and stable performance down to 2-ohm loads.
Crest Audio E-Lite Series amps are built on an advanced, high-speed class D design with a switch-mode power supply. The E-Lite 1800 and E-Lite 1800 DSP boast 900 watts per channel, and the E-Lite 3000 and E-Lite 3000 DSP boast 1500 watts per channel and both versions weigh less than 10 lbs (4.5kg). All amplifiers offer parallel, stereo and bridged modes. All modesl offer combi Neutrik XLR-¼" inputs, XLR thru connector (switchable between DSP processed or dry signal), and Speakon output connectors.
The Crest Audio E-Lite DSP version features an onboard digital signal processor that hosts a suite of delays (0-120ms per channel), adjustable crossover, adjustable limiter, parametric EQ, HF driver EQ, four user preset storage locations, and stereo/mono/bridge operation with lockable security settings. The front-panel LCD screen allows users to quickly identify and assign presets, while the USB port allows users to load presets and enables external setup and adjustment.
The E-Lite DSP section also integrates Waves MaxxBass Bass Extension technology, which uses psycho-acoustics to create precise harmonic overtones that give the perceived effect of adding low frequencies to the mix. The level of MaxxBass can be adjusted from 0% to 100%.
Crest Audio E-Lite™ Series amplifiers feature two channels with channel-independent, fourth order 100 Hz crossovers housed in a steel chassis. The proprietary ACL Automatic Clip Limiting circuitry prevents the amplifier from sending potentially damaging clipped signals to the loudspeakers. Additional onboard protection circuitry includes DC, Temp, Signal and Active safeguards, all referenced on the front panel with LED indicators.
The Crest Audio E-Lite series, will be available in Q3, 2010.
