Studiomaster launches line array and PA loudspeakers

A6-2152A by StudiosoundThe prolight+sound exhibition 2010 in Frankfurt, Germany, saw Studiomaster launching several new products on twice the stand sitze as the brand had taken in 2009. Included in the line up of new products are Studiomaster's first ever line array. A6 and the JX series of active and passive PA cabinets.
The A6 series is designed to be an affordable, compact, and self powered line array for use in smaller and medium sized venues, in commercial installations, and by hire companies. The A6 is a modular system, with each ‘module’ comprising an A6-212SA bass unit, housing the 1x800w and 2x400w amplifier system, and two A6-206-4 hi/mid cabinets. The system can be floor sited or flown, with flying points fitted on both cabinets.
The A6-212SA features two 12" low frequency drivers powered by an 800w amplifier. Each hi/mid cabinet is discretely driven by a 400w amp for maximum output and clarity, and an electronic crossover is pre-set to ensure optimal system performance. The A6-206-4 is specified with two 6.5” custom drivers and a single 44mm throat compression driver. All amplifiers have dedicated level controls, bargraph displays and limiters.
The X series expands Studiomaster’s PA speaker range with medium sized active and passive high performance cabinets of various configurations. Seven active and seven passive loudspeakers enable quick and easy installation of high signal power handling sound reinforcement for different applications. All 14 models incorporate a driver design featuring a new magnet configuration to reduce distortion at high power levels. Constant directivity horns with a 90ºx60º dispersion pattern can be rotated to match cabinet orientation. The active models integrate high reliability bi-polar amp designs – rated at 800 watts rms in the 2x12” and 2x15” models – 3-band EQ and an 80Hz high band pass filter on the hi-mid cabs, for improved intelligibility in voice applications. Subs and twin driver models employ a fan assisted cooling system for long term operational reliability. The cabinets are finished in tough scuff resistant paint with sturdy steel speaker grilles.
