|Launched at prolight + sound 2009 in Frankfurt, Germany, Adam Hall's LD Premium series of sound reinforcement systems made its UK debut at LIMS 2009, London, and will also be showcased at PLASA 2009 in London. Designed to reliably provide brilliant sound at high sound pressure levels using high quality components at a reasonable price point, the LD Premium series consists of 8“, 10“, 12“ and 15“ multi-purpose speakers, as well as of the VA4 and VA8 Line-Array systems. Subwoofers from 1 x 15’’, 2 x 15’’ and up to 2 x 18’’ complement the product line.
The full-range module of the compact VA4 line array system (width 480 mm) is the dual 4" 2-way VA-4 cabinet with a frequency range of 80 Hz - 21 kHz and a total continuous power rating of 225 Watts at 16 Ohms. A typical small flown setup comprises four VA-4 full plus the matching V-215B subwoofer on top. The V-215-B features two 15" drivers with a 4" voice-coil prividing a frequency range from 35 - 300 Hz. The power rating is 1.2 kW at 4 Ohms providing a maximum low end of 132 dB max.
The 2-way VA-8 module (width 740 mm) contains 2x8" drivers and 2x1.35" compression drivers with a frquency range of 70 Hz -19 kHz and a total power rating of 750 W (continuous) at 16 Ohms. There are two matching subwoofers with dual 15" or dual 18" drivers.
Both line array types can be controlled by the programmable DPA-260 DSP featuring a 2-channel-in /6-channel-out architecture. It offers cross-over, equalization, limiter, phase-inversion in a single U 19" housing.
The range was developed by experienced audio-developers and FOH engineers in the USA and Germany. The cabinets are all made of 18mm multiplex and coated with the DuraCoat LX coating - which helps stand up to the tough daily demands of touring and live applications.
