Studiomaster starts shipping XPX series of high performance portable PA

Studiomaster XPX15AStudiomaster started shipping its high performance, portable XPX Series PA which will also be showcased at Winter NAMM 2013. Launched at Prolight +Sound China 2011 and shown at both Winter NAMM and Prolight+Sound 2012, the injection-moulded XPX Series employs the company’s latest engineering innovations in an lightweight, high performance portable PA cabinet, designed to offer high quality and cost competitiveness.
The 2-way trapeziodal cabinets are available in both self-powered and passive variants. Two models feature either 12 inch or 15 inch lightweight neodymium LF drivers, with 3 inch (75mm) and 1¾ inch (44mm) compression HF drivers, respectively. The weight and portability of these cabinets belies their high power rating and SPL capability. The self powered variants feature Class D bi-amplification with switch-mode power supply, delivering 500 watts RMS LF and 100 watts RMS HF power in both the XPX12A and XPX15A (pictured).
The cabs are light and portable despite their power, with the larger XPX15A weighing less than 20 kgs or 45 lbs. Both models feature pole mounting fixings and M10 hanging points, and dual connectors. The series line-up is completed with the XPX15SA and XPX18SA, active subs, featuring 15 inch and 18 inch drivers respectively and heavy duty class H amplification.
Soundking Group Europe Marketing Manager Patrick Almond says about the XPX series: “We have developed the XPX series as a cabinet of unusually high quality and performance. It is very well positioned in comparison to some of the biggest players in the market, offering a very good price point in relation to its specifications and features. Customers are finding the flexibility very useful, being able to use the XPX both as a traditional PA cabinet and, due to the angle and design of the cabinet, as a wedge monitor. So it has multiple purposes; free standing, on poles, on stands or as a wedge. It can be used standalone with the built in mic/line input, or as part of a larger PA setup. We have had very positive feedback regarding the quality and reliability of the XPX. This is backed up by the regular substantial orders we are receiving from most of our worldwide distributors; one far east customer ordering in excess of 1000 pieces.” “In the passive version, the XPX perfectly complements our powered mixer ranges, including the new Horizon 2012.”
