ETC appoints Matthew Brookfield general manager in Europe

In the tradition of a company where ex-colleagues remain friends, ETC has appointed Matthew Brookfield as general manager for its European operations. Matthew originally joined ETC in 1995, when the company took over the lighting controls division of ARRI (GB), where he was production manager. Promoted to operations manager in 1999, he left ETC in 2002 to return to full time education, obtaining his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Brunel University and a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management (FMM) from Cranfield University in 2004.
"I left ETC to broaden my business understanding," explains Matthew. "For my FMM, I spent a year running a factory in Bristol, implementing World Class Manufacturing techniques to make the facility run like clockwork, and to make a significant contribution to the business through the elimination of waste. I really learned, beyond anything, that everyone has something to contribute to a business. I'm looking forward to putting the knowledge to good use at a company which I already know well."
"I am very excited to have Matthew return to ETC in his new role," says ETC's CEO, Fred Foster. "As general manager he will provide local direction, leadership and operational management while supporting the global direction of the company. Matthew's history with the company, combined with the new knowledge and experience he has gained in his education and work experience in the last few years make him the perfect choice for this job."
