At the Harman Pro Group’s annual Business and Technology Conference 2009 in Carlsbad Ca., it was announced that Andy Brown has been promoted to Head of Digital Console Strategy for Soundcraft Studer, effective immediately. He holds an electronics degree and has over twenty years experience across a number of functions at Soundcraft. For the past twelve years he has specialized in product management and during this time delivered such classic consoles as the MH range (MH2, 3, 4), the SM, Ghost, K-Series, the Series 4 and flagship Series 5 live sound consoles.
Recently, Brown has spearheaded the development of the company’s large-format digital platform (the Soundcraft Vi Series) with the engineering team based in Studer’s HQ in Switzerland and in Potters Bar, UK – he remains Product Manager for the Vi Series along with his new responsibilities. Brown said, “The advent of digital audio processing has provided us with so many new opportunities and we have extremely aggressive plans to deliver new models and extend our platforms. My role will be to pull together the customers’ requirements and the expertise and technologies from all parts of our business to provide more winning products for both our brands.”
According to Keith Watson, Vice President of Marketing for Soundcraft Studer, “Andy’s delivered some of the industry’s most successful consoles and with his most recent products - the Vi Series - taking market share across Touring and Installed Sound, he’s the automatic choice to take us to the next step. Watch out for more new digital from us very soon!”
