CISCO Systems celebrates Amsterdam HQ with Electro-Voice equipment

In October 2002, CISCO Systems celebrated the opening of its European headquarters in Amsterdam. Spreading over 40,000 square metres in the south eastern part of the city, the futuristic premises of the world leader in networking for the internet are designed to accommodate 800 employees. The official opening, hosted by CISCO CEO John Chambers, was attended by several hundred selected guests and featured an attractive entertainment program. Dutch musical star Linda Wagenmakers performed and an Electro-Voice X-Array delivered the sound. "For the sound crew," remembers Axel Nagtegaal of Electric Audio, "the need was to cover the full spectrum - the speeches, the gala, the recorded music and, of course, the live music as well - and the results proved yet again how versatile and flexible EV's X-Array system really is." As the gala drew to a close, CISCO's event manager had only two words for Axel Nagtegaal: "Perfect show!" The Electro-Voice X-Array used included two EV Xds, two EV Xcn, six EV Xb, four EV Xf, four EV Xcb, and several EV P-3000 amps. CISCO - an American Dream Cisco was founded in 1984 by a group of computer scientists from Stanford University; at that time, it had only two employees. On Feb 16th 1990 when it made its initial public offering, their number had risen to 54 and annual revenues stood at $69 million. Spearheading the New (or Internet) Economy, the company's revenue and earnings grew over 42 consecutive quarters to the year 2000, by which time it was employing 34,617 people and revenues had grown to a staggering $18.9 billion and were to rise still further in 2001 to $22.3 billion.
