Electro-Voice ZX5 breaks another power/weight barrier

Breaking another power /weight barrier, Electro-Voice launched the ZX5 series of powered speakers at the ProLight+Sound show 2004 in Frankfurt.
Setting a new standard for high-power loudspeakers in polypropylene enclosures, the ZX5 series includes six models featuring a fifteen-inch, two-way speaker systems. The plastic enclosures are extremely lightweight and ultra-robust.. Housing and protecting the 15" driver DVX-3150 and the ND2 2" neodymium driver, a cabinet boasts maximum power handling of 2400 watts providing up to 133 dB of SPL. Weight: 22.5 kg (49.6 lbs)
Aiming to achieve easiest possible handling and powerful performance, Electro-Voice's designers were not allowed any compromises. The ZX5 turned out to be a sound reinforcement system suitable for any application including mobile PA, stage monitor and installations.
The series consists of six models using the same full-range 15-inch, 2-way loudspeaker system with an integrated passive crossover and a frequency range of 52 Hz - 16 kHz (± 3dB). Available are versions with a coverage of 60° x 60° or 90° x 50° in either a black finish or a white or a black weatherproof enclosure. Featuring an interated stand adapter, all systems allow adjustment of monitor angle (45° / 55°). Ten mounting points for the 3 supplied Ancra fittings or installation using optional system accessories.
