D'Addario introduces coated EXP Electric strings at Winter NAMM 2010

Regular Light gauge of D'Addario EXP Electric stringsLaunched at Winter NAMM Show 2010, Anaheim, D’Addario takes the anticipated EXP Electric strings to Summer NAMM Show 2010, Nashville, Booth #1401. Through advanced EXP Coated Technology, D’Addario has perfected the art and science of coated string-making to deliver extended play strings that sound identical to the D’Addario XL strings. To ensure that tight tolerances and specifications are followed, D’Addario’s exclusive EXP Wire machine draws wire from rod, anneals, cleans, coats, cures and spools wire all in one continuous process. By using the thinnest possible and concentric coating on the wrap wires, D’Addario EXP Electric strings should deliver longer life, completely natural tone, and the feel of uncoated strings. In addition, new developments allow for four times more corrosion resistance of plain steel strings through an exclusive compound tin-plating process.
EXP strings are available for the full assortment of instruments, including Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Electric and Acoustic Bass, Classical Guitar and Mandolin. They are available in the same gauges as the XL electric sets EXL110, EXL120, EXL115, EXL125 and EXL140.
“It’s really true what they say -- that you can’t rush perfection,” says D’Addario & Company, Inc. CEO, Jim D’Addario. “These strings have been in high demand for quite a while now, and we’ve responded with a high-end coated electric string that we know will go above and beyond expectations. The new EXP Electrics combine the favored feel and tone of our famous XL strings, while combining the longevity of our popular EXP strings. Big things do come in small packages!”
EXP Electrics include an introductory special of a free extra high e string in each set.
