2nd Eric Clapton Limited Edition Acoustic Guitar

Perhaps no other musician has so profoundly influenced rock and acoustic blues than British guitarist Eric Clapton. From his early work with John Mayall & the Bluesbrakers, the Yardbirds, Cream, and Derek & the Dominos, through his stellar Solo career Eric has continually redefined the art of the guitar. In recognition of this major talent, the Martin Guitar Company announces an exciting second limited edition collaboration with Eric Clapton.
This is the first time that Martin has honored an artist with two signature limited editions. The first limited edition in honor of Eric Clapton was the OO0-42EC. Introduced in 1995, the editionof 461 guitars sold out within days. The new guitar, the OOO-42ECB Eric Clapton Limited Edition Signature Acoustic Guitar, is crafted of the finest material available and inducles spectacular design features. Just 200 Brazilian rosewood 000-42ECB guitars are made. The  000-42ECB Eric Clapton limited edition guitar is identical to the 000-42EC in body size and shape, with the short 24.9" scale length that is popular among fingerstyle and blues guitarists who prefer a delicate and balanced tone.
Crafted with solid woods throughout, the sides and back are constructed from C.I.T.E.S. certified solid Brazilian rosewood. The top is bookmatched from the highest grade (AAA) Engelmann spruce. The rosette is inlaid with highly colored abalone pearl and wood fiber inlay. The guitar is adorned with highly colored abalone pearl and Eric Clapton's bordered signature is inlaid between the l9th and 20th frets in abalone and mother of pearl. An ivoroid bound ebony fingerboard features heart styled 45 abalone snowflake inlays bordered in monther of pearl. The solid C.I.T.E.S. Certified Brazilian rosewood headplate is square tapered with altemate torch inlay and  C.F. Martin & Co.  antique stamping on the back. Each 000-42ECB will bear an interior label, numbered in sequence (i.e. l of 200,2 of 200 etc) and personally signed by Eric Clapton and Martin CEO and President Christian Frederick Martin, IV.
The 000-42ECB is tastefully appointed with a dark Golden Era tortoise color polished and beveled pickguard. Gold plated open-geared timing machines are equipped with vintage  butterbean  knobs. An American Deluxe Hardshell Case is included with the purchase of each 000-42ECB instrument. The cordura exterior cases feature a suspension padding system with plush burgundy interiors.   In 1996 Martin introduced a numbered series of 000-28EC Eric Clapton signature model acoustic guitars. The stock model000-28EC guitars continue to be in demand, with thousands shipping annually.
