At winter NAMM Hamer introduced the addition of the
new Artist Korina HB to its Artist range for 2001. The Artist Korina with
P-90 pickups was first introduced at the Summer NAMM show in July 2000
and became an instant success. "The next logical step was to produce a
humbucking version," related Frank Rindone, Hamer's product manager.
The semi-hollow Artist Korina HB features a rare Korina wood body and neck. It is capped with a bookmatched, arched "Chevron" Korina top with f-hole. The top is hand carved both inside as well as out. The Artist Korina HB features two Seymour Duncan 59' pickups. Available only in a natural "Vintage" Korina finish, the Artist Korina HB model number is ARTKHB-VKC and uses the Hamer GC1 case. Another new product of Hamer USA at NAMM was the Newport 12-string guitar.
This hollow-body guitar features an Ivoroid bound hard rock maple neck
and body. The arched top is hand carved and made of bird's-eye maple with
two f-holes. The Newport 12 comes standard with the popular Seymour
Duncan "Phat Cat" single coil pickups, producing a bright, crisp sound.
The Newport features a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays.
Frank Rindone: "The string spacing is wide enough and comfortable for even
the largest hands."
Also introduced at winter NAMM was the Standard Flame Top guitar, a more economical guitar designed after the Hamer USA Standard Custom model with a fully-bound alder neck and body featuring a bookmatched flamed maple top. Pickups are 'Duncan-designed' and available finish is Cherry Sunburst. |
