Hamer USA added the Monaco single cutaway series to its lineup for January NAMM 2002. For the past 25 years, Hamer has always been known for producing hand-made, double-cutaway style guitars. "Those players who are aware of the quality of Hamer will now look to us as an alternative choice when shopping for a single cutaway USA-made guitar, ” related Frank Rindone, Hamer’s product manager.
The Hamer Monaco features an ivoroid bound, Honduras mahogany body with a hand-carved solid spruce top with two f-holes. The bound mahogany neck is a 25 ½” scale length with a rosewood fingerboard and features Hamer’s new Victory mother-of pearl inlays. The Hamer Monaco is powered by Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and Duncan Custom pickups. The Monaco also features a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Bigsby tremolo.
For the player looking for a flamed Maple top, Hamer introduces the Monaco Superpro. The Superpro features an ivoroid bound, Honduras mahogany body with sound chambers, book-matched flamed maple top and a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tailpiece. The bound mahogany neck is a 25 ½” scale length and also features the Hamer Victory inlays. The Superpro is powered with Seymour Duncan ’59 and JB pickups.
The Hamer Monaco is offered in a red transparent finish. The Monaco Superpro is available in Amberburst, Aztec Gold and ’59 Burst finishes.
