Hagstrom introduces Select Series guitars at winter NAMM show 2008

Hagstrom brought the new Select Swede and Select Ultra Swede guitars to the NAMM 2008 audience. All guitars in the Select Series feature Mahogany body and neck, flamed and quilted finishes, and Flame Maple bindings on the body and the neck. “The new Select Swede really takes the classic Swede guitar to the next level. With quilted and flamed maple tops, meticulously selected woods, and flamed maple bindings all around, the Select Swedes are absolutely stunning to look at and offer a sound that I can only describe as awe-inspiring!” exclaims Gabriel Whyel, Hagstrom USA’s Marketing Director.
The Select Swede comes in three finishes including Burgundy Burst, Blue Chip, and Golden Eagle, the Super Swede also comes in three finishes such as Vintage Sunburst, Dirty Blonde, and Cocoa. The Select Ultra Swede comes in Vintage Sunburst, Dirty Blonde, and Indian Summer finishes.
“The Select Ultra Swede introduces a new body type for Hagstrom Guitars,” continues Whyel. “A beautifully carved single cut-away, the body resembles a streamlined Swede, slightly lighter weight with a slimmer profile. Also including a coil tap, this guitar is the perfect combination of the Swede’s style, playability, and sound and the Super Swede’s versatility.”
All Select models feature select mahogany body and neck, quilted maple top, set neck, Hagstrom’s H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fretboard, abalone and pearl shell inlays, 22 frets, Hagstrom stop tail piece, Hagstrom 18:1 tuners, 2 Hagstrom custom 58 pickups, and a 3-way pickup toggle. While Swede and the Ultra Swede both have a 24¾“ scale neck, the Super Swede has a slightly longer 25.5” scale neck.
