At NAMM Show 2010, Nashville, Booth #1401, D’Addario launches the anticipated EXP Electric strings . D’Addario EXPs were designed to deliver the most natural-sounding, longest-lasting coated strings available.
Through advanced EXP Coated Technology, D’Addario has perfected the art and science of coated string-making to deliver extended play strings that sound identical to the world-famous D’Addario XL strings. To ensure that D’Addario’s tight tolerances and specifications are followed, our exclusive EXP Wire machine draws wire form rod, anneals, cleans, coats, cures and spools wire all in one continuous process. By using a 50% thinner and more concentric coating on the wrap wires, D’Addario EXP Electric strings deliver longer life, completely natural tone, and the feel of uncoated strings. In addition, new developments have dramatically improved the longevity and durability and also allow for four times more corrosion resistance of plain steel strings through an exclusive compound tin-plating process. This exclusive wire provides four times more corrosion resistant tin to dramatically improve the life of the whole set. EXP strings are available for the full assortment of instruments, including Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Electric and Acoustic Bass, Classical Guitar and Mandolin. They are available in the same gauges as the best-selling XL electric sets EXL110, EXL120, EXL115, EXL125 and EXL140 and are shipping January 1, 2010. “It’s really true what they say -- that you can’t rush perfection,” says D’Addario & Company, Inc. CEO, Jim D’Addario. “These strings have been in high demand for quite a while now, and we’ve responded with a high-end coated electric string that we know will go above and beyond expectations. The new EXP Electrics combine the favored feel and tone of our famous XL strings, while combining the longevity of our popular EXP strings. Big things do come in small packages!”
