Roland RG-1 compact digital grand piano

At the 2008 Summer NAMM show and at the London International Music Show (LIMS), Roland Corporation introduced the RG-1 digital mini-grand piano. This latest addition to Roland's line of digital pianos offers high-end piano sound, playability, and performance with the look and feel of a traditional piano.
The RG-1 provides the most expressive and natural playing experience possible with Roland’s acclaimed PHA II “Ivory Feel” keyboard with escapement, which absorbs moisture to replicate the secure, slip-proof feel of ivory keys. The escapement architecture flawlessly reproduces the characteristic “click feel” of a grand piano for the ultimate in realistic performance and expression. The RG-1 also yields a heavier touch in the lower range and lighter touch in the upper, and provides lighter resistance for pianissimo passages and stronger resistance for fortissimo.
The RG-1 digital piano has many advantages over a traditional piano, such as a smaller and more lightweight footprint, affordability, and enhanced media features. Play along with your favorite songs by simply inserting USB flash memory or an optional USB CD drive. Flexible file compatibility enables playback of .WAV files and standard MIDI files for accompanying solo performances or practice.
The RG-1 delivers uncompromised 88-key stereo multi-sampled piano sound through a quality built-in stereo speaker system and headphone output, yielding an incredibly realistic and expansive sound. The distinctive acoustic properties of each key have been meticulously captured to accurately reproduce the subtlety of a full concert grand piano. With this quality sound in a streamlined grand-piano shape and a new sleek Satin Black finish, the RG-1 is an elegant addition to any room.
