XG-909 virtual drum machine
In February 2001 Metaphoric Software released XG-909, the newest member
of the Techno Toys family of electronic music production programs for Windows
95, 98, NT, and 2000.
XG-909 is a virtual drum machine that brings the power of "X0X" style
pattern-sequencing to any synthesizer compatible with the Yamaha XG, Roland
GS, or General MIDI standards. In addition to the basic features expected
of an X0X drum machine - pattern chaining, song mode, shuffle, and flam
- XG-909 features a unique "Delta-NRPN" algorithm that allows any XG drum
parameter to be controlled with a built-in analog sequencer. Now dance
musicians can sequence pitch, filter settings, envelope times, even effects,
along with their drum tracks. Even die-hard analog fanatics will go gaga
over the phat dance tracks that can be created with no more than an XG-equipped
PC. And when attached to a pro-quality XG synthesizer, XG-909 becomes a
rhythmic powerhouse of unprecented sonic power.
XG-909's features include:
* 100 patterns of 16 steps x 10 tracks, 2 analog rows per track
* Static and dynamic control of all XG drum parameters
* Shuffle, flam, and echo
* Pattern, chain, and song modes
* MIDI file record and export
* Sysex manager
* Advanced multiple-instance integration and synchronization
* Rock-solid timing
* Y2K-compliant graphic interface
* Fully integrated with other Techno Toys such as Seq-303 and Arp-X8
