The LS-10: Taking Olympus to the high quality digital recording stage

Olympus LS10 digital PCM recorder Launched at winter NAMM show 2008, the Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder captures superior audio at the touch of a button and introduces a well established brand to the MI industry. The LS-10 was also highlighted at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2008.
Well known for its cameras, medical equipment, consumer quality recorders, and professional dictation, Olympus developed the LS-10 which offers 24 bit/ 96 kHz PCM recording in a highly portable format fitting comfortably in the palm of your hand. Aiming at musicians, journalists and podcasters, this pocket-sized studio enables the spontaneous capture of anything from an impromptu jam session to an unexpected encounter with a politician, or even a nature soundscape. In addition to extra long battery life, there’s also 2GB of internal memory plus an SD card slot for ample storage with the potential to expand at any time. For significant increases in storage capacity, this model is even compatible with the SDHC format which can supply up to 32GB of additional storage space. And with the inclusion of Cubase 4 LE, the advanced music production software from Steinberg, the LS-10 comes equipped with everything you need to create high-quality sound projects on Windows or Mac computers.
Boasting a high-sensitivity, noise reduction stereo microphone, sampling rates of up to 24bit/96kHz and PCM recording, this portable device delivers astounding sound quality. Users are given additional flexibility thanks to three different file formats: in addition to WMA and MP3, the WAV format is also on hand to satisfy the demands of even the most discerning audiophiles.
Aside from high-quality metal dials for the setting of volume and recording levels, the LS-10's microphone casings are crafted from a solid aluminium block.
The LS-10 also incorporates a built-in stereo speaker for immediate playback, as well as a tripod socket for quick and easy mounting. Compatible with Windows and Apple operating systems, the LS-10 comes with the renowned Cubase 4 LE music production software from Steinberg, which enables playback of 24bit/96kHz sampled PCM recordings. Additional tools and features bundled with Cubase include multitrack recording, MIDI support, digital mixer as well as a video tutorial especially produced by Olympus.
The LS-10 comes withe a carrying case, USB cable, audio cable and two microphone windshields. Optional accessories include an infrared remote control, AC adaptor, ME30W conference microphone, carrying case, tripod and rechargeable Ni-MH battery.
