Drummers Collective and Bass Collective New York City has signed an agreement
with Carl Fischer Publishing to publish a series of books with CD's. These
books will feature the material taught in the Collective's full time programs
and are based on a curriculum that has been developed over a period of
more than twenty years. The first series of books will be the Drummers/Bass
Collective Performance Styles Series, an area for which Drummers/Bass Collective
is an acknowledged leader.
The Collective series of books will present an outline of important
contemporary and ethnic styles and will include an accompanying CD performed
by members of the respected Drummers Collective and Bass Collective faculty.
The complete series will include such diverse styles as Afro-Cuban, Brazilian,
Afro-Pop, Caribbean, Rock, Jazz, Funk, New Orleans, and Drum & Bass.
In total more than fifty different styles and grooves will be covered.
Release date is scheduled for January of 2001.
The Collective was established in 1977, as Drummers Collective, and
was the first school to create a professional oriented curriculum for aspiring
musicians. The Collective attracts hundreds of students each year from
all over the world, and boasts an alumni community from more than forty
different countries.
