SAE moves to a new Hollywood location

SAE Institute has announced plans for its new 6565 Sunset Boulevard campus in the heart of Hollywood, California, commencing classes in the Spring of 2005. The new facility, already under construction, will offer SAE's pro audio facilities and instructors to the crucial Hollywood audio, post-production, and multimedia/film markets. This continued expansion of SAE's network of worldwide facilities, headquartered in Byron Bay, Australia, marks its 4th US campus to date, with further locations planned.
The Los Angeles campus will encompass the latest in pro audio technology and network integration for its purpose-built 25 studios, control rooms and workstations. The 19,000 square-foot facility will include an integrated mixing theater, blue screen stage, and 3 surround sound equipped studios. SAE Los Angeles will also take delivery of the first of 10 new Solid State Logic AWS 900 consoles recently purchased by SAE, as well as serve as the worldwide exclusive SSL Approved facility for AWS 900 training.
Courses offerings will include Audio Technology (diploma), Digital Film Producer (diploma), Electronic Music Producer (certificate), and Basic Media Certificate (certificate) programs. All students completing the Audio Technology curriculum will also receive Digidesign's official 'Pro Tools 101' certification, as well as participate in interactive demonstrations lectures from top artists, engineers, and producers in the industry. Students also have the option to continue their education to obtain a university degree in conjunction with SAE's worldwide academic partners.
Commenting on the announcement, SAE Institute Founder and CEO Tom Misner stated, "We are proud to expand our world network of facilities to Hollywood at such an exciting time in the audio industry. While many changes have shifted the face of the audio industry in the past decade, SAE has been able to stay ahead of the technological curve through our strategic partnerships and alliances with top manufacturers and engineers worldwide. This enables us to not only prepare our students for what they will encounter in the real world, but to also equip them with additional independent training certifications relevant to the current audio industry. The Hollywood facility, besides its obvious advantages in location, will serve as a west coast center for audio technology and multimedia education from which we will continue to offer SAE's unique combination of top-notch instruction and world-class facilities"
SAE Institute's Los Angeles campus will begin accepting applications for its Audio Technology Program on December 1st 2004.
