Designed for any application where visible cable networks are undesirable, the new Microflex MX692/C boundary microphone from Shure provides systems integrators with wireless freedom, superior sound and reliable performance. Frequency-agile with over 100 selectable channels via its own integrated UC wireless transmitter, the low-profile mic is easy to setup, and requires no drilling to install, thereby eliminating the need to bore a hole through any mounting surface.
Convenient to use, the MX692/C is outfitted with a touch-sensitive logic switch which can be programmed for push-to-talk, push-to-mute, or toggle operation. With a frequency response of 50-17,000 Hz, the microphone additionally features an easily accessible on/off switch, active status indicator, battery fuel gauge, and a protective grille shielding its cardioid cartridge. Operable within two available frequency bands (UA and UB), the MX692 can be simultaneously utilized within a combined total of 32 systems. Further flexibility is found in the half-rackspace UC4 receiver (available separately), which has its own built-in, adjustable EQ and extensive LED metering. The MX692/C also has the ability to be used with other Shure UC, UP and UHF transmitters.
The MX692/C will provide up to seven hours of operation with a 9V alkaline battery. Adjustable via an input gain potentiometer or attenuator switch, the unit's transmitter has 50 mW of output power. The mic's standard cardiod capsule can also be interchanged with Microflex supercardioid or omnidirectional cartridges.
Set to ship in November 2003, the MX692/C will be available from authorized Shure dealers across the US. Important note for the European market: The MX692 wireless boundary microphone is bearing no CE mark.
