K+H debuts new series of installation loudspeakers at pl+s 2008 and at PLASA08

At prolight + sound show 2008 in Frankfurt Klein+Hummel debuted a new series of installation loudspeakers for sound reinforcement incorporating precise frequency control and a modular removable backplate system. The IS 122, IS 123 and IS 153 series loudspeakers are designed using Mathmatically Modelled Dispersion technology for optimum coverage control and smooth arrayability with rotatable horn patterns in 80x50 and 50x40 formats.
Backplate selection may be either factory ordered or field swapped between a passive crossover, direct wiring for external biamplification or a fully active self-powered version with K+H optimized DSP tunings. A single category 5 cable can distribute digital audio to a set of IS series speakers while providing integrated remote control and monitoring when used with the K8 system from K+H. In addition to the 15” 3-way and 12” 2-way designs, K+H offers a unique 12” 3-way design for the most demanding applications.
This series of products is designed to precisely address the needs of performing arts, music, night club and house of worship venues.
Several hundred industry professionals including an editor of pro-music-news.com had a nice opportunity to listen to the new IS Series loudspeakers which were installed as FOH systems at Union-Halle in Frankfurt for the annual Sennheiser-Party: The sound of both bands performing live on stage was simply convincing.
The IS Series loudspeakers will also be highlighted at PLASA 2008, London, and were showcased at InfoComm 2008, Las Vegas.
