Alcons introduces the LR14B line-array bass system

Extending its successful L-series of products, Alcons introduces the LR14Bass, a high-output bass-system which is designed to be a low-frequency extension to the LR14 ribbon line-array module. The LR14B can be flown, stacked or serve as bottom unit of a stand-mount triple-LR14 array.
The LR14B is designed for highest efficiency in “full-space” conditions, within the weight/size parameters defined by the line-array application. The line-array specific “full-space” flown condition brings a substantial reduction (-3dB) of output, versus a “half-space” stacked bass application.
In order to achieve a considerably higher efficiency than conventional front-loading arrangements, the long-excursion 12” drivers are double-vented, double-tuned in a band-pass loading configuration. The result is an output of 100dB (1W/1m, full bandwidth 46-200Hz). A power handling of up to 3.2 kW provides 135dB SPL out of a very compact cabinet.
As the LR14B is primarily designed to be used in portable (mainly flown) applications. Its made of 15mm Birch wood with sophisticated bracing for a lightweight yet rigid unit. Two long-excursion 12”Neodymium drivers feauture a low distortion /low power-compression design. The unit weighs in at only 34kg including all flying hardware.
The integrated flying system lacks separate/loose parts and is certified to a very high rating of 24 cabinets with safety-ratio 7:1. In stacked configuration, the flying hardware of the LR14B provides a solid foundation for LR14 arrays. The LR14B's stand-mount sleeve in combination with the triple-LR14 bracket plus stand creates a "top-sub" combination.
As with all Alcons’ systems, the Signal Integrity Sensing pre-wiring ensures full cable/connector compensation between the LR14B and ALC amplified-controller for very tight and accurate bass response. This results in a damping factor of 10.000 at the input terminals of the LR14B.
The first batch of LR14B’s have been shippe already to customers in Australia, South Africa, Germany and Russia.
